S1: E3 Bit the Bullet

Image
After years of putting it off, I finally bit the bullet... journal! What was most intimidating was simply starting . I have had a Pinterest board full of ideas, but still couldn't decide on the perfect first page. (Which that's part of the problem, putting so much pressure on making it perfect!) Do I start with a key? Do I start with a tracker? Or a "This bullet journal belongs to Marilyn" page? The possibilities were honestly endless! Finally, I decided on something simple, but profound; a quote. Since I love Disney, I went with a classic Walt Disney quote I felt would fit my overall intended vibe -  Sharing things that make me laugh, spark imagination, and help me chase my dreams.  I'm very excited to step outside of my comfort zone and push my creativity into a new form.  Now I just have to decide on the next page! Oh, boy! -mvm- This Bullet Journal is Brownie Approved

S1: E2 Earth Day

Image
HAPPY EARTH DAY! I decided to sit down with my brush pens and create by hand rather than on computer first. This quick and overseen line from Disney Pixar's "A Bug's Life" cracks me up every time. If you aren't familiar with it, the ants are collecting harvest for the grasshoppers, when all of a sudden a leaf falls right in their path. One of the ants panics because now he is lost and cannot find the line. A senior ant runs over, assures him they can go around the leaf, and remarks "this is nothing compared to the twig of '93!" I know we are all stuck behind a leaf right now, but one day we will remember "quarantine of 2020" and how we made our way around it. We can only take things one day at a time, so today I will pledge to conserve energy and water, keep my car off the road to keep the air clean, and do more hands on activities to keep busy rather than being tied to technology. All while I continue to stay home to help flatten ...

The Pilot

Don't you love being in your twenties and getting asked the question, "So, what do you do?"  I am a graphic designer, part-time magic maker, and full-time dreamer. That is usually my vague go-to response. Art and creativity have always been a huge part of my life though. Whether it's dancing, designing, arts and crafts, hand lettering, playing violin, drawing, and even theater, they all define who I am today. Being able to simply create, and make a vision a reality is pure magic to me. I low-key would also love to be a game show host one day or even a comedian because I love to make people laugh. Laughter is the best sound in the world. Change my mind. But for now, I am simply a dreamer and I want to share my process with you to reach my dreams. So welcome to my journey as I continue to meet the world and now, the blog! -mvm-
