S1: E7 Spectacular

Thanks to quarantine, I was finally able to get all caught up on "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel" and I absolutely adore it. I mainly adore Zachary Levi who plays Benjamin, but nonetheless, it is such a great show. If you have seen it then you know what is going on, and if not, I won't spoil it. But there is one scene with Benjamin and Midge that really resonated with me.

Benjamin uses the word 'spectacular' to describe Midge, and she confidently responds with, "I know." WOW! Those two simple lines just struck me. I love how he chose 'spectacular' instead of 'amazing,' 'beautiful,' or even 'cute.'

Not only was that powerful, but so was the confidence of Midge knowing she IS spectacular. I want to adopt that same energy in my own lifestyle. Whenever someone compliments me, I often counter-compliment it and disagree with them. I need to OWN it. Stop with the self-doubt and lack of confidence. YOU ARE SPECTACULAR.

Since this hit me so hard, I had to create a piece for myself. I took a picture of the TV of this particular scene because right there you can feel the chemistry. Adding the black and white filter gave it such an authentic look, while also adding modern day text chat bubbles to show the powerful conversation happening in the shot. Now it is framed and sitting on my dresser to remind me every day to be confident because I am spectacular.

It is amazing how a TV show, even just a simple line or two from it, and a piece of art, can effect you in so many ways.
