Marilyn Meets Blog

An update for those of you following along... Not only did I get my new laptop, but I finally got a new printer, too! Now I have all the tools I need to start designing and printing on my own (well, except a desk to put it all on, but that's a different story). I am so proud of myself for making this happen. The next step I have been working on is setting up my office space to put it all in. I am SO close to completely cleaning out my spare room for this transformation.  It has been a lot of work clearing things out and deciding what to part with and what to keep. Sometimes it feels like I have my own thrift shop with the treasures I find! I am so excited to have this extra space and make it my own... paint the walls, hang pictures and decorations up, set up shelves with trinkets old and new... so many possibilities! But as you probably know, life keeps getting in the way for this project to be complete. Between working, making plans with friends / family, ...

How is it July?  WHO SAID IT COULD BE JULY ALREADY?! Now that I am getting older, thinking about how quickly time is passing is freaking me out. How was my high school graduation 10 years ago? How have I already been working at the Disney Store for over 5 years? How has it been almost 21 years since my dad has passed? Even the start of COVID lockdown seems so far away, and yet it has only been a year since things started to reopen! WHAT EVEN IS TIME Sometimes it moves so slow... and then other times you blink and it's gone! When I was younger, I couldn't wait to be older. Now I'm terrified to turn 30 in two years. Why? Just because that means I have been on this earth for 3 decades and I don't feel like I have done as much as I should have yet. But that's for another blog.  I am also at the age where I see the little ones in my life grow up, as well as the older ones, well, get older. I remember when my cousins were BORN and now they are off to high school ...
