S2: E17 Make Her Proud

An update for those of you following along...

Not only did I get my new laptop, but I finally got a new printer, too! Now I have all the tools I need to start designing and printing on my own (well, except a desk to put it all on, but that's a different story). I am so proud of myself for making this happen. The next step I have been working on is setting up my office space to put it all in. I am SO close to completely cleaning out my spare room for this transformation. 

It has been a lot of work clearing things out and deciding what to part with and what to keep. Sometimes it feels like I have my own thrift shop with the treasures I find! I am so excited to have this extra space and make it my own... paint the walls, hang pictures and decorations up, set up shelves with trinkets old and new... so many possibilities!

But as you probably know, life keeps getting in the way for this project to be complete. Between working, making plans with friends / family, traveling, and taking some time to just chill and read a book. My goal is by the end of the summer to have everything set up and ready to make magic! Maybe by the fall I will have new products and be able to re-open my Etsy shop! Fingers crossed and stay tuned!

While cleaning this room, I found a box of pictures. One of which had a tiny wallet sized version of my kindergarten school photo. I took it out and put it on my bedroom mirror. I know I am not where 5 year old Marilyn thought I would be at this point of my life, but I am trying. Seeing that picture will hopefully motivate me more.

I want to make her proud.

    Such a fabulous story of your new beginnings. Do you have before and after Photos?
    The younger Msrilyn is full of wonder, hope.....such a cutie.

    I would like to talk to you about a first fairly sized project. TBA. When you feel ready. No pressure.

I have always had a hard time with changes throughout my life. Even though it is the one constant thing to happen. But as I get older, I am realizing how much it is needed and I have been embracing it. Life would be boring if everything stayed the same. S2: E9 Yogurt Cup

If you know me at all, then you probably know that my all time favorite show is Boy Meets World. Clearly, because my whole brand is even based off of it! One of my favorite moments in the show is when Eric and Cory go on a road trip together. What Cory doesn't know is that for Eric, this isn't just a trip. He decides he isn't going home afterwards. Along their travels though, they come across the World's Largest Yogurt Cup, which they must visit! There is even a Parade of Sprinkles that Cory checks out, but doesn't get the memo about wearing goggles to protect his eyes. 😂 (Images found on Google from the show, I do not own the rights to them - sharing for visual purpose) I feel I am a lot like Cory Matthews in many ways, but one being how I would be just as excited for this random iconic monument. S3: E9 Sophomore Slump or Comeback of the Year

"Never apologize  for how you feel,  for how you hurt,  for how much you love." I'll be honest with you. I feel like I have been in a bit of a slump the past 2 months. Waves of loneliness, FOMO, fear in general, being different or having unique interests, the constant comparison and not being where I "should be" in life. All of it is valid, but this is MY YEAR.  In honor of my 30th back on January 19th, I decided to do something fun for myself on the 19th of every month this year - so far it's been a success! July is my "half-birthday" month and I thought it would be a good time to step back to appreciate all the good/positives that have happened since my birthday rather than get stuck in the slump.
