S3: E7 Happy Blog-iversary!

THREE YEARS - THEN AND NOW.

______________

Human development is a lifelong process of physical, behavioral, cognitive, and emotional growth and change. Even though I have not grown in height in decades, there are so many other ways I have and I am proud of. Nothing like an anniversary to do some reflecting.

I was gifted a book at the beginning of 2020 by a dear friend called, "Things To Do Before You're 30" and one of them was to start a blog and here we are! What better time to start than in a pandemic when you can't go outside or be within 6 ft of others. I was able to share my thoughts, and most importantly my design projects, on this platform rather than the usual social media feeds.

I have not been posting as consistently as I had originally intended to, but that's okay. As long as I keep it up in some way, shape or form. Just looking back at the entries I made 3 years ago shows how much I have grown simply in my writing, as well as designing. It's funny how in the moment a project can be our favorite thing, but then a few years later you revisit it and think about how you can improve it. Everything is always changing and improving.

Mentally I am in a much better place than I was then, too. I have talked about it in previous posts, but it is something I truly have noticed and makes me so happy. It has helped tremendously with wanting to make changes to my life and creating better habits. One thing I hope with this blog is that sharing my perspectives on topics I care about inspires others in whatever way is needed.

I have managed to grow with my designing by finding motivation here and there and learning new techniques. Also, since getting a Cricut I have taught myself how to make recipe cards, stickers of different kinds, and envelope writing! There is so much more to conquer with it and I can't wait to keep diving in. My Etsy shop has been "on vacation" for a long time now, but since I have accumulated more products to share, I have a goal to open it back up this year!

Until then, I have listed out my creative projects I have accomplished either for fun or freelance over the past 3 years.

______________

All of these things have a special place in the portfolio of my heart, but boy, 3 years have sure gone by in the blink of an eye. I don't know if it's simply because of adulthood or just due to being in a worldwide pandemic. Either way, it's crazy to think about. Taking this time to step back and look at what I have managed to accomplish creatively in that time is very rewarding. Stay tuned as I continue to "meet the world" and share my journey along the way.

Happy Blog-iversary to me! 🎈
