S3: E8 Stuck on Stickers
I'm not sure if I talked about this before, but as a kid I had sticker commitment issues. I loved stickers, don't get me wrong, I just didn't want to use them. What if I didn't want them in the spot I put them in forever?! Sticker books helped and I filled plenty! I am sure I still have them all somewhere, along with probably tons of unused sheets.
It's funny that as adults we still love stickers! Whether we put them on our cars, water bottles, laptops, and notebooks, we will buy them. Currently I have a stack of them that don't have a committed spot to go on yet. What am I waiting for?! Regardless, with my Cricut, I am now able to make my own, which is dangerous.
Before I had that easy access though, my best friend requested a Mario themed sticker (3 years ago, no joke) and I just got to it a month or so ago. I wasn't confident enough of doing it justice when she first asked. Over the years I have been able to push myself and learn new techniques so I asked if she still wanted it and whipped it up. Since the wait was so long, I decided to create some bonus ones for her, too!
When we went to Disney for our 30th birthdays, we got Dole Whip and her cashier told her it was "on the mouse" which was so cute! That was such a fun and core memory I decided to make magic with that. Then along the lines of ice cream, I came up with a Monsters Inc. themed one with Mike Wazowski and it says "EYE SCREAM" which I thought was pretty great. I may continue to do that idea with other characters. Stay tuned!
Lastly, I made one for me because it IS me! While working at LEGO, I had a mini figure on my apron that looked like me and I decided to turn her into a design. Now I turned her into a sticker! She can go wherever I decide to put my Lizzie McGuire inspired cartoon of myself. Who wouldn't want various Marilyn inspired stickers?!
I keep saying this, but I want to reopen my Etsy shop, and now I have plenty of new ideas and creations to add to it! I actually have two more I am currently working on and am super excited about. Let me know if there are any requests you have and I promise I won't take 3 years to fulfill it!
