S1: E7 Spectacular

Thanks to quarantine, I was finally able to get all caught up on "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel" and I absolutely adore it. I mainly adore Zachary Levi who plays Benjamin, but nonetheless, it is such a great show. If you have seen it then you know what is going on, and if not, I won't spoil it. But there is one scene with Benjamin and Midge that really resonated with me. Benjamin uses the word 'spectacular' to describe Midge, and she confidently responds with, "I know." WOW! Those two simple lines just struck me. I love how he chose 'spectacular' instead of 'amazing,' 'beautiful,' or even 'cute.'  S P E C T A C U L A R Not only was that powerful, but so was the confidence of Midge knowing she IS spectacular. I want to adopt that same energy in my own lifestyle. Whenever someone compliments me, I often counter-compliment it and disagree with them. I need to OWN it. Stop with the self-doubt and lack of confidence. YOU ARE SPECTA...

S1: E6 Not One More

NOT ONE MORE On June, 4th 2020, I attended a peaceful Community Walk for Justice in my hometown of Wilmington, MA. Former classmates created the event, as well as presented powerful speeches. I was so moved by the words that were said, as well as the ones that weren't during the moments of silence we had. Personally, I have been having a hard time finding where I can speak out and make more of a difference in this movement. I have made donations, marched, shared sources on social media, signed petitions, and supported black-owned bookstores across the country by purchasing books to further educate myself. But there is so much more to be done. Just two days after the walk, I stumbled across my watercolor sketchbook from my senior year of college. I had done some hand studies and the picture below is one of them. Who knew 6 years later, this piece would be so much more than just a sketch.
